Standardising camera distance and height for posture views

About 1 min read

If distance drifts, apparent leg length and shoulder height lie. This is foundational physics, not opinion.

At a glance

  • Mark tripod foot positions on the floor per view.
  • Document lens or phone model if teams mix devices.
  • Re-train after any studio renovation that moves walls or lights.

Why small distance changes skew global posture appearance

Closer cameras exaggerate proximal structures relative to distal ones. Height shifts alter perceived pelvic tilt and head position. Agree numeric distance targets and tolerance, not vague “about two metres.”

Mixed device fleets need a compatibility matrix

Different phones apply distinct crop and stabilisation. If unavoidable, assign device classes to specific operators and note class in the record. Better: standardise hardware for posture capture days.

How many credits does each analysis type use?

Fast, Standard, Advanced, and Dynamic analyses use different credit amounts—there’s a dedicated guide in this hub; Pricing also has plans and FAQs on monthly renewal.

Quality control photos for trainers

Maintain a library of acceptable vs unacceptable framing examples from your actual room. New hires calibrate faster with local photos than generic stock.

Matching SOP numbers to PosturalCheck on-screen guidance

During onboarding, verify that your measured floor-to-lens height matches what trainers teach inside the app flow. Mismatch between myth and reality causes staff to improvise.
